Confession and Rant

It's Monday and I have a confession. I have a very, very serious case of laziness this summer. It's bad. I am completely unmotivated to accomplish much of anything that requires much effort. I have three to-do lists going.
  1. To-Do this summer (before school starts on Aug. 17)
  2. To-Do this week
  3. To-Do today

Guess what keeps happening...nothing. So the lists just keep getting longer, and I move the to-do today, to the to-do this week list. Clever, aren't I?

...maybe I'll just cram everything into the last week before school starts...I do work well under pressure :)

Now for the rant. I try to not rant(whine) too much (on my blog)...but this is driving. me .nuts!

I happened to pick of a People magazine last night while at Wal-Mart. I wanted to read about Nicole Kidman's baby girl, whom she named Sunday, which I think is kinda cute...anyways, on the front page is also a pic with the headline: Pregnant Man Gives Birth to a Girl. Yeah. I've been stewing over this one since I saw the ads for it on Oprah. I cannot contain it any longer.

Here is my rant: He is not a man giving birth to a baby. He is still a woman, with all the equipment God gave in order to grow a baby. No big miracle on this guy (woman's) part. You can take male hormones and remove your breasts, but inside...still a GIRL. IT'S A GIRL HAVING A BABY. NO MEDICAL MARVEL. SHEEEESH!!

OK, no more rants tomorrow, I promise :)

  1. Oh, GIRL. This is one of my recent biggest pet peeves. I get super annoyed - and sad - every time I hear it, and I can't believe the way the media is hyping it up, when it is no more amazing than any other woman giving birth. Unbelievable.

  2. We live in one confused society. I agree with you...

  3. From one "to-do" list maker to another...I totally agree about the "man having a baby"...ridiculous!

  4. I am so unmotivated too. I sure have big plans for each day but they just keep getting moved to the next day... and the next.

My stomach turns everytime I hear about this 'man'. I agree 100%.

  5. I agree with your rant. I was talking about "shim" yesterday. Pathetic!

I believe it was Billy Graham who once said that if Jesus didn't return soon, He would have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah!

  6. A BIG AMEN FROM ILLINOIS!!!

I can no longer watch Oprah - since she has been promoting her "new" religion. I had subsribed to her magazine as well - can't get out of that! I simply throw it into the garbage the instant it comes. I have also cancelled all emails from her.

As far as the man giving birth - I cannot say ot any more girl - LOVE YOUR RANT - IT SAYS IT ALL!!!

  7. I've been wondering about that for quite some time now. I read about the pregancy awhile ago. Here's the thing.... shortly after getting our new licenses, my husband, Don, realized he had gotten an "f" in sex. We have no idea how the mix up occured. Needless to say when one is checking the new license application on the monitor one looks more for address and spelling mistakes, not to see if they transfered ones gender correctly. When we went to correct the mistake they gave him a really hard time and said he needed to have proof he was a man when he moved to this fine state! What!!! We were married here.... They wouldn't even take a doctor's note, and dropping his pants was not an option (without jail time). Thankfully he remembered his former DL# and they were able to pull the info up and find out that he was indeed a man apon leaving MI.
SO HERE'S THE DEAL... how does this chick get to legally "become a man" on paper while still a woman? Trust me, Don makes a MUCH uglier woman than that "guy" does!!

  8. Hi Sarah,
Finally I hear my own words back at me! I've been "ranting" about this to my family since day one & have heard the truth spoken very little in the media. I've been telling my daughter, my one who is old enough to "get it" understand that the media has this all wrong, just as they can spin so many other stories by leaving out elements of truth. Thanks for letting me vent too. :)

  9. Sarah -

You aren't the only one who has this particular "rant". It was not a man who had a baby. It was a woman who chose to mutilate her body and then get pregnant.

My heart breaks for the poor child of this sick experiment. How confusing for her when she is told that her "daddy" gave birth to her...not to mention all of the testosterone in her system that could damage the child now or in the future.

All we can do is continue to pray for the baby.

  10. Ok, first of all ... you have a serious list addiction. you may need a little counseling for this ... or maybe, try getting rid of all little notebooks and notepads in your house. You need to do a list detox. If you just do things when you think about them, you won't have to worry about getting the things on your list done. Makes sense to me.

And the pregnant man/woman thing ... yeah, I've ranted about this before. It is not a medical miracle, but just a freak show. I feel for that child. I agree with the others ... she will need some prayer.

  11. That baby was born in the hospital that my sister is a NICU nurse in... good times, good times. We all need to be praying for that little one. I can't imagine what life must be like.

I also can't believe all the publicity there is over something so ridiculous... but that's what the world searches for ... ridiculous, as far from truth as it can get, and attention getting stupidity.

Good luck with the list... mine is piling up as I type! :)

  12. I'm a big time list maker myself. I try and limit my daily to do list to my top 6 must do things.

And Amen to your rant! I so agree!

  13. It is amazing that this person doesn't want to be the woman that God created her to be but yet she wants the benefits!!!!
Don't try to tell the world you're some kind of medical miracle when in reality you're a confused lost person, in need of a Savior!!!

    Stepping off the soapbox now!

  14. No kidding. I didn't know the baby had been born. I pray for what the child of this totally screwed up union-thing will go through. Oh, Lord your love and protection for this little life.

  15. yes yes yes...I actually couldn't help myself and watched part of this episode on oprah (even though i CAN'T STAND her). HE/she is a WOMAN! I just feel badly for that poor child when she learns how she was carried and born...it's just not healthy for the child!

  16. hehe. throw the lists away. go to the pool. do it all after school starts, the weeds will all be dead by then anyway right?? and love the line, "she's a girl having a baby. no medical mystery there!"

  18. It is so great to find people who agree with the whole man being a woman on the inside issue! Come on, this is not rocket science. My 14 yo daughter got it!!! I am so glad to have found you and your internets who agree!! I also feel sad that this baby will have to grow up in that situation!!
    Great blog!!

  21. Completley agree with your rant! It's mine too! Makes me sick to the stomach when I hear about it.

I have been putting my to do list off since the end of may. So, I am WAY behind! I am having to put school off one more week due to my laziness!
