Now I Get It...

I first heard the song below a few weeks ago.

I didn't like it. I'm not sure why. It just didn't seem "catchy" as I listened to it.

But then it grew on me a little. And then I added it to my ipod. And last Friday night I added it to my new playlist called "Humid Running" because, well, it's been humid and it makes running even less fun. I figured a playlist for it would help.

It did.

And during the 8 miles last Saturday I fell in love with this song...because I sang it (in my head and not out loud) as a worship song. And then I got it...it's a worship song.

God of this city. God of this tiny-town. Same difference. He's made it the cry of my heart.

There is no one like our God.

  6. This is a fabulous song! As much as I love my Chris Tomlin, though, the original by Bluetree is the best!

  7. LOVE this song!

Our church just planted 2 churches and we played that on the Sunday we commissioned the teams heading off. Since then, I always think of those two "teams"/churches of ours and remember to pray for them. It's definitely become a regular that the worship team plays. Such an awesome song!

  14. I had been hearing this song last spring and didn't pay much attention to it when it came on the radio but then when Coach Thomas died, someone posted it to one of his "fan pages" and I paid attention. Wonderful song on normal days but I think, it's extra-special on days when a town is hurting (floods, tornados, death of a leader, etc.)

  15. This song was one of our theme songs for our church's missions conference last year and, like you, at first I didn't care for it too much -- but as we sang it every night I too realized what you did -- it is a worship song! God is not just the God of the universe he is the God of THIS CITY and there is no one like Him!

P.S. I love that you have a Humid Running playlist :)
